Experience + Education = Excellence
A longtime resident of Newport News, Dr. Becker is a graduate of the University of Richmond and the Medical College of Virginia, where he teaches dentistry as a part-time clinical instructor. After graduation, he completed a two-year residency in general dentistry in the U.S. Army. Since then, he has lived and practiced on the Peninsula. Because he is committed to staying current on the latest techniques, products and procedures, he attends continuing education courses constantly, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Society, the Peninsula Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Becker is married, has a daughter who is a captain in the U.S. Air Force and a son who plans to apply to dental school this year. He jogs, plays golf, is a Washington Redskins fan and loves his chocolate Labrador Retriever, Chloe.
His strength as a dentist, according to his staff, is his commitment to his patients. “He really puts the patient’s best interests first,” says one staff member. “He’s very ethical.”
Staff with a Heart
In addition to Dr. Becker, our office consists of a hygienist, two medical assistants, a receptionist and an office manager. All have worked in dentistry for many years, which means they have the knowledge to answer almost any question. They describe the office as “more relaxed and casual than some of the uptight practices. We care. Patients really like us. They’re not just one more case to us.”
